TV Market Germany (1990-2009) November 2009 | ALM German TV Market Report 2009 Official German TV Market Report 2009 In 2008 the German regulator (ALM) had licenced 365 TV channels, 147 with a nationwide coverage (including 16 general interest channels, 43 special interest channels and 68 pay TV channels). According to the ALM, the German TV market represented € 9,615 million (not included: teleshopping & infrastructure fees) splitting up into 4.430 € public funding, 4,035 € million net TV advertising reveneus and 1,150 € million subscription revenues in 2008.
German TV Market Revenues (2008) In 2009 cable still was the most popular reception mode in Germany with 19.8 million TV households receiving their TV signals via cable, 15.7 million TV households by satellite and 4.2 million TV households by terrestrial reception.
